Flight Dynamics Services

Scope

The Space Flight Dynamics Group is one out of three sections of GSOC's Space Flight Technology Department. Its primary focus is the provision of expertise and services in the discipline of flight dynamics for current and future spaceflight projects. This comprises the classical tasks of orbit and attitude analysis, determination, prediction and control and closely interacts with spacecraft operations, telemetry reception, tracking and commanding. Supported missions include scientific satellites, telecommunication satellites and manned missions as well as deep space probes. To perform this work, the section has developed and continuously upgrades a variety of software tools supporting both pre-mission analysis and flight dynamics operations.

Projects

These satellites are currently supported by the flight dynamics group: We are preparing for new challenges in the areas of formation flying and precise baseline determination:

Tools

Numerous software tools are available to support flight dynamics software development and operations.
