Flight Dynamics Software
This page provides an overview of general software packages used to
support flight dynamics studies and operations at the German Space
Operations Center. Most applications have been developed within the
Space Flight Dynamics Section and can be made available to external
users on a license basis. Where applicable, further information is
provided in the detailed description of the individual programs.
A package based Fortran90 library for flight dynamics applications.
Also available in Ada83/95.
VENI/VIDI/VICI
A suite of three programs supporting general mission analysis. Features include
ephemeris generation (VENI), visibility diagrams (VIDI) and plot generation (VICI).
ORI
The ORI program generates orbit related information in terms of ephemeris and event
predictions. A precision numerical orbit propagator is used, which is applicable for
all types of Earth orbiting satellites. Results are provided in both text and
graphical form.
An integrated package supporting station keeping and colocation of geostationary
satellites. Among others, the software is used at SES Luxembourg for the control
of currently six ASTRA satellites.
LAUWIN/PATH/APMAN
A collection of three programns supporting the positioning of geostationary satellites.
The programs cover the analysis of launch windows (LAUWIN), the design of injection
strategies (PATH) and the optimization of apogee/perigee boost maneuvers (APMAN).
ODEM
ODEM is a general purpose orbit determination program for use with radiometric
tracking data and GPS navigation data. It provides a precision force and measurement
model.
ORAN
ORAN is an orbit determination error analysis software of Earth orbiting satellites.
It is used to study the impact of statistical and systematic errors on the orbit
determination and prediction accuracy based on the concept of consider covariances.
Geodyn II
Geodyn is a high precision orbit determination program developed by the
Goddard Space Flight Center. It is employed for studies in GPS orbit determination.
